How to Access your NDM Email and Outlook for Free
As a member of Renaissance Institute at NDMU, you have several benefits, a few of which require you to know your NDMU email address. Therefore, we’ve created a guide on how to Access your NDMU email address, change your password, and install the Microsoft Office Suite of Apps:
Your NDMU email address will be in the following format: FIRST INITIAL followed by LAST NAME followed by a DIGIT (usually a 1) followed by @LIVE.NDM.EDU. It doesn’t matter if the letters are in upper or lower case. As an example Harry Potter’s email address would be: HPOTTER1@LIVE.NDM.EDU. If Harry had married Hermione Granger, her email address would most likely be HPOTTER2@LIVE.NDM.EDU. As an aside, Harry didn’t marry Hermione- he actually married Ginny Weasley! Your NDMU email password will expire every 90 days. You will need your password in order to install Microsoft Office for FREE.
1. First, send an email to HELPDESK@NDM.EDU. Provide them with your NAME and BIRTH DATE. If you think you know your NDMU email address, provide that as well. Tell them you want to verify your email address and change your password.
2. The Help Desk will send you an email telling you what your email address is and will also provide a temporary password.
3. The Help Desk email will provide instructions for changing your password. The first sentence of instructions tells you to go
to “GatorMail.ndm.edu”. The full path is http://www.GatorMail.ndm.edu
4. You can also go to http://www/ndm.edu/current-students and then click the box that says STUDENT EMAIL.
5. Follow the prompts in order to change your password.
6. You don’t have to pay any attention to the rest of the Help Desk email, which tells you how to register for “self-service GatorPass management”.
7. Once you change your password, you will be on a page which shows your NDMU calendar, which is most likely empty. If you would
like to look at your NDMU emails, you will need to click on the Outlook icon, which shows up at the left of your screen.
8. If you have any problems, you can call or email the Help Desk via the numbers/addresses provided in their email.
Once you get into your email account and on the page that shows your calendar, you will see a button at the top right side of your screen that says: “Install Office”. This installation button refers to Microsoft Office 365 and includes Outlook, OneDrive for Business, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more products. You can install Office on up to five devices. You may want to talk to the Help Desk before you click on the button and try to do an installation, particularly if you have an old computer that has not been updated recently or an old version of Microsoft Office.
