Weekly Announcements
for the Week of September 22 - 24, 2026
Below is a list of events happening in Renaissance now and in the near future.
Upcoming Events:
SEPT 23 WEDNESDAY, 12:30 PM, in Feeley 003: Teaching is Rewarding – You can still sign up for this luncheon seminar and learn how you can give back to RI by teaching a course - or two. RSVP ASAP to renaissanceopenhouse@gmail.com - especially if you want to make sure there is enough food to go around.
SEPT 30 WEDNESDAY, 12:00 noon in Feeley 003 (the Big Room!): Song Circle. R. I. Members and guests join in singing and dancing along with some well-known pop and folk songs from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Bring your lunch, bring a friend or two, and join in the fun! (First of several Wednesday musical events.)
Notices and Reminders:
RI Library (AKA used books for sale) is open during school hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Books are 2/1 dollar. Members are also encouraged to donate books –limit is 2 per member—and please no dictionaries, textbooks, maps cookbooks. Fiction (especially mysteries and thrillers), non-fiction, biographies and public affairs are popular with members. Donations can be placed on the table in the library.
Shared Classroom Courtesy Reminder: Please remember, we share our rooms with other NDMU Community members, so if we rearrange furniture, we need to put it back where it originally was and if we make a mess, especially after lunch, we need to clean up after ourselves.
Carpooling: For folks who come to campus for classes and events, you know the parking situation is extremely challenging this year. If possible, please consider carpooling with your RI colleagues. You can reach out to your RI Council member contact or post a request or offer for carpooling on the RI bulletin board. May the parking odds be ever in our favor!
RI Member Survey: Next week you'll receive a request for feedback on your experience as an RI member. Please be on the lookout for the request; it will come to you in a separate email on September 30. The survey should just take a few minutes of your time, and we will use your feedback right away to continuously improve the program.
NDMU Alumni Weekend: Next week NDMU is also throwing a big alumni bash, and this may be of interest to RI members who attended the university. Check out the details here.
