Weekly Announcements for the Week of March 24 – 26, 2026

Welcome to the 2nd half of our Spring semester!

Below is a list of events happening in Renaissance now and in the near future.

Upcoming Events:

MAR 25 WEDNESDAY at 12:00 noon in FIC003: TOMATO JUNCTION RETURNS! This is the Renaissance Institute House Band featuring several R. I. Members including the return of Denis Smith on the Hammer dulcimer.

APR 1 Wednesday: Member Input Survey Due! We hope you’ve had a great first term in the spring semester. As we look ahead to next year, our Curriculum Committee would like to know more about you and your preferences for courses offered in the RI program. We invite you to complete a brief survey; it should take no more than 10 minutes. Your responses will be kept confidential and help the committee design our programs going forward.

The survey will remain open until 11:00 PM on Wednesday, April 1. Please click here to open the survey. Thank you for participating and sharing your time and wisdom to continuously improve our program.

APR 8 WEDNESDAY: Deadline for Summer in the City Event Descriptions. The SIC Event Quick List is growing – thanks to our creative and generous member sponsors! Please check the website – www.renmember.com – to see what has been planned so far, and contact SIC Committee members for help with planning an event, yourself. THANKS!

Notices and Reminders:

SAVE the DATE! Mark your calendars now for the Joyce Dennison Memorial Bus trip to Brandywine Museum on May 14, 2026. Signups will open in April.

From the Library Committee: Due to steady book-buying by our members, we again have room on our shelves for new items! We are now pleased to invite donations from Renaissance members, with a limit of 3 per member. Fiction and non-fiction, especially mysteries, thrillers, biographies and current affairs, are always popular. We also accept poetry. But please – no dictionaries, reference books, textbooks or maps. Books are still two for a mere $1, the best bargain in town for book lovers like us. So, please keep shopping and donating so that we can keep the collection fresh!
