Announcements October 22 and October 24

Below is a list of events happening in Renaissance now and in the near future.

Upcoming Events:
OCT 28 MONDAY, 2:00 pm, in the Villages of Homeland: Barb Rooney is hosting the next RI "Getting to Know You" group meeting. As usual, there is an abundance of news. Barb’s apartment is about three blocks from NDMU. For more information, please contact Barb at roddonia@comcast.net

OCT 31 THURSDAY, 12:15 pm in FIC003: RI Halloween Party. There will be the famous costume parade, complete with awards, along with apple cider and candy. We welcome donations of other treats to share.

NOV 6 WEDNESDAY, 12:00 noon in FIC003: SONG CIRCLE. Renaissance members and guests can join in singing and dancing along with some well-known pop and folk songs from the 60’s and the 70’s. Bring your lunch and bring a friend.

NOV 13 WEDNESDAY, 3:30 in the Loyola-Notre Dame library and on Zoom: Please mark your calendars for our special Lecture by Dr. Linda Rabben, "Through a Glass Darkly: The History of Stained Glass in Baltimore." A reception will precede the event at 3:30 celebrating our former Director, Shirley Bigley LaMotte. Further details to follow.

Winter in the City is accepting events for semester break: December 9 – January 31. [Spring Course Previews are scheduled for December 10 and 12, from 10-noon; events should not be planned at those times.] Click on Winter in the City, on the RI member website – www.renmember.com – to find event ideas and instructions for planning, as well as for writing your catalog description. Email your event write-up to riwinterinthecity3@gmail.com by November 15. Only 4 weeks to go!

“Getting to Know You” – Per the calendar item above, members periodically host informal sessions for new and longer-term members to meet in a small group setting to learn more about each other. If you would be interested in hosting a meeting, please contact Barb Rooney at the email address above.

Spring Course Request: Vivian Appel is looking for RI members to present a topic in next term’s Kaleidoscope class. This is an opportunity to share an interest or expertise in only one class period, not a 6 or 12 week commitment. The course is scheduled for the first part of the term.
