Announcements April 30 and May 2

Below is a list of events happening in Renaissance now and in the near future.

Welcome to the last week of the Spring Semester session at Renaissance Institute!

Upcoming Events:
MAY 1 WEDNESDAY at noon, in FIC003: Concert by "Tomato Junction,” the Renaissance Institute house
band, featuring R.I. members Nancy Heinold, Jan Martin, Denis Smith, George Meredith, and John
Meredith as well as guest bassist John Partilla.

MAY 3 FRIDAY at noon, in FIC003: RI END OF YEAR PARTY AND AWARDS CEREMONY: The Renaissance Singers will perform and awards will be presented. Bring your lunch.
Desserts will be welcomed. Drinks will be provided. This is our last chance to gather as a large
group until next fall.

MAY 7 TUESDAY and MAY 9 THURSDAY, 10 a.m. on Zoom: COURSE PREVIEWS for the fall semester will be presented by the instructors/coordinators. The preview sessions will be recorded and made available on the RI website as well.

SUMMER IN THE CITY: Event sponsors are waiting to hear from you. Use your own copy of the catalog or check the RI website – www.renmember.com – to select events and find email addresses for hosts. Email them directly, ASAP.

TRANSITIONS: Our Director, Shirley Bigley, is going to retire as of May 31ˢᵗ. Therefore her last day among the RI membership will be Friday May 3ʳᵈ. She is planning to be at the end- of-year party
& awards ceremony (see above). On Tuesday April 30 thru Thursday May 2, there will be a “memory book” at the kiosk for members to record their thoughts, feelings, memories, and best wishes.

CPR TRAINING (Fall 2024 semester) – As new head of the Safety Committee at R.I., Denis Smith’s first project is to get a cadre of 10 members trained in CPR. He is looking for volunteers to
attend a training session in the FIC on Friday August30th at 10AM, with a special request for any former nurses or other health care workers to join the group. The other members of the Safety Committee are Joe Lapicki, Elizabeth Fanto and Kay Pulcinella.
